Description: This data contains the Address Points for the City of McKinney and its ETJ. The addresses within the city limits are assigned and maintained by City of McKinney GIS. Address points outside the city limits but within ETJ are assigned and coordinated with Collin County GIS. Address points for the entire County is downloaded on a bi-annual basis and new points added by County GIS which fall outside our city limits are then added to our address points layer. Public safety CAD system can only consume one address layer and so we cannot maintain two point layers - one for within city limits and one outside city limits.Last updated: Update frequency: As Needed

Description: This data contains the subdivisions for the City of McKinney, Texas. The initial boundary lines for the subdivisions are drawn during the addressing phase when addresses get assigned. This is typically done after the Record Plat has been approved and a development permit has been issued for the subdivision. The boundary is adjusted to align with the parcel lot lines once CCAD has the parcels drawn in.Last updated:Update frequency: As Needed

Description: Process Steps: This layer was created per legal documentation (petitions) submitted to the Planning department. These documents are used to draw and/or verify parcels to be released from the City of McKinney's ETJ boundary. Boundaries are often, but not always copied directly from the parcels layer. Per Texas law, individuals wishing to have their properties removed from the ETJ simply have to submit such a request. These cases are received by the Planning department and then submitted for review to the GIS department. This data is dependent on the most recent petition document(s) submitted by the resident or their legal representative(s). These documents may or may not contain all relevant information necessary to perform release; if not the Planning department/resident will be notified. Actual release of the boundaries from the ETJ are done in batches, approximately every 2-4 weeks.Last updated: August 2025Update frequency: ~every 2 weeksUpdate Scheduled: ~every 2 weeks
